Nancy Trottner offers a variety of spirituality services to help YOU answer that big question –
“Why am I here?”
Deep within each of us is a spiritual core, an imprint of the Divine, an innate wholeness. Life’s challenges and tragedies often eclipse our experience of our wholeness.
Nancy is able to address the psychological as well as the spiritual aspects of one’s journey. Her practice involves inviting individuals to journey deeply into their spiritual core, and to “mine” the gold within. She uses her 35+ years of experience to call forth that which is most authentic and most deeply spiritual. Experiences are explored in an environment that provides collaborative wisdom and safety.
Her use of individualized tools like dreamwork, guided imagery, clairvoyant reading and energy work help to facilitate spiritual emergence and strengthening.
This process allows us to be in the world in a more deeply authentic ways. This journey is the journey of our soul.
Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) Japanese word meaning universal life energy. Most ancient cultures believe that this energy flows throughout the entire body. Recent reseach strongly suggests that this is true and that disruptions or imbalances in its flow correlate to physical, mental, and emotional illness. Reiki addresses these imbalances in the service of good health and a sense of well-being.
Reiki is a gentle, yet powerful method of hands-on healing that was rediscovered by Dr. Mikau Usui in the early nineteenth century in Tibet. The application of Reiki allows you to tap into your own Life Force Energy. When this is strong you feel healthy and happy, your immune system is enhanced and you feel relaxed.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF REIKI?
Reiki has been known to relieve stress, increase energy, release tension and anxiety, focus awareness, ground and balance energy, relieve pain or discomfort. decrease fatigue and deepen one’s spritual awareness…and so much more!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A REIKI SESSION?
Receiving Reiki can be a peaceful, healing experience. Most people lay on a table fully clothed. But Reiki is adaptable to any situation and can be given in a chair or sickbed. No oils or massage is used. The practitioner gentle lays hands in a series of hand positions, but can place them anywhere you may feel the need, ie,a place where you may be experiencing pain or discomfort. The universal energy flows through the practitioner to you. The practitioner does not use his/her own energy. You receive the balancing you need in body, mind and spirit. During a Reiki treatment you may feel a deep relaxation, tingling, warmth, spiritual awareness or grounding. Results can be profound or subtle. During a session you may experience a deep meditative state which allows your body to open itself to healing. Some notice little during the session but later feel a profound sense of relaxation, relief of pain or a sense of well-being.
REIKI IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS
A growing number of clinics and hospitals all over the world are utilizing Reiki as part of a compliment to medical treatment, psychological counseling and massage therapy. Reiki offers gentle support for patients recovering from cancer, surgical procedures, those with chronic pain as well as stressed family members. It is increasingly employed for Hospice patients to alleviate physical symptoms and anxiety. Locally, Longmont United Hospital and the Center for Integrative Care at the Tebo Family Medical Pavillion in Boulder offer Reiki to their patients.
WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY?
Studies of Reiki demonstrate significant reduction of pain following treatment. Patients report feeling increased relaxation and a sense of well-being. Another study cited an improvement in immune and nervous system function as well as increased mobility in patients with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and firbromyalgia. Surgical patients at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire decreased their use of pain medications, shortened their stays and reported increased satisfaction after the use of pre- and postsurgical Reiki treatment.
